The New Patriotic Party has reminded Ghanaians, especially members of the National Democratic Congress, that the 2020 elections will not be fought on propaganda and lies, but on truth and competence.

As the December referendum on political parties’ participation in the election of metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives (MMDCEs) fast approaches, the general secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party, John Boadu, has charged all party executives to actively participate in the campaign for an overwhelming "YES Vote" in the upcoming exercise.

Intelligence reports reaching the Daily Statesman indicate that unless political stakeholders, like the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), effectively coordinate their activities and develop proactive security strategies, Bawku may go up in flames in the heat of the 2020 campaign and elections.
