The National Democratic Congress continues to amaze with its apparent incapacity to live up to the role of offering an alternative government.

The national chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Freddie Blay, says he is surprised at the position taken by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the referendum seeking an amendment of Ghana’s laws to allow political parties to participate in district-level elections.

Hajia Alima Mahama, the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, has expressed surprise at the sudden shift of position by the National Democratic Congress regarding next month’s referendum on partisan participation in district-level elections.
