An independent presidential candidate in the 2016 election, Jacob Osei Yeboah (JOY), has said that the regional biometric voter registration (BVR) pricing benchmarking studies available do not support the cost figures being quoted by IMANI and leaders of 17 other civil society organisations (CSOs) to explain their opposition to the compilation of a new voters’ register in Ghana.

The governing New Patriotic Party opened nominations yesterday for its 2020 presidential and parliamentary primaries, scheduled for April 25.

While a leading member of the opposition National Democratic Congress has revealed his party’s readiness to shed blood to “show the NPP where power lies”, the newly sworn-in president of the Ghana National Association of Alternative Dispute Resolution Practitioners (GNAAP) has urged politicians to adopt a “Ghana first” mentality towards the December polls in order not to disturb the nation’s peace and stability.
