The Electoral Commission has postponed Ghana’s impending voter registration, following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic. The exercise was originally scheduled to start across the country on April 18.

It appears that elements within the opposition National Democratic Congress are plotting the defeat of the party’s 2020 flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama, in this year’s general election, in order to advance an “Agenda 2024”.

The trial of the national chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, and the NDC’s deputy communications officer, Anthony Kwaku Boahen, began yesterday amid multiple controversies.

The National Democratic Congress is leading a spirited fight against the decision by the Electoral Commission to introduce a new voters’ register for the December presidential and parliamentary elections.

A steady stream of abuse takes our democracy, always, to within mere inches from the edge of the precipice.
