Akufo-Addo to attend UK-Africa Investment Summit and World Economic Forum Featured

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo left Ghana on Friday to attend the UK-Africa Investment Summit in London, United Kingdom.

The UK-Africa Investment Summit is being hosted by the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, today and will bring together businesses, governments and international institutions to showcase and promote the breadth and quality of investment opportunities across Africa.

According to information from Jubilee House, President Akufo-Addo will deliver the keynote address tomorrow at the Ghana Investment Opportunities Summit – an event which aims to bring delegates, especially from the United Kingdom, to explore investment opportunities in Ghana.

Next stop Davos

The President will then travel to Davos, Switzerland, at the invitation of the founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Professor Klaus Schwab, to participate in the 50th-anniversary celebration of the World Economic Forum Annual Meetings, which will be held from tomorrow to Friday.

The Davos Meeting has become an iconic forum which brings together world leaders in politics, business, finance and academia to deliberate on matters affecting the global community.

The President is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey; the Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta; the chief executive officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Yofi Grant; and officials from the Presidency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He will return to Ghana on January 26. In his absence, Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia will act in his stead, in accordance with Article 60 (8) of the constitution.
